The G/L Segment window is available when WorkPlace Advanced Account Lookup is licensed for users with security access. This maintenance window allows the user to define which of the 15 available segments are active, the description for each and to setup and define relationships for segment values.
Displays the system generated segment number (1 through 16) currently being edited.
Check the box to make the Segment active. Active Items will be available for selection on the G/L Segment tab in transaction entry.
Enter in a description for the Segment ID that will appear as the field label on the G/L Segment tab in transaction entry.
Check the box to allow this GL Segment/Financial Dimension to appear on the GL Distribution window. When enabled, a dimension value can be selected for each GL Distribution. This setting cannot be enabled if "Exclude for Create GL" is also enabled, and this feature will only supported with integrated systems that can accept multiple Financial Dimension allocations.
The number of entries displayed on this page will be based on the 'Default Paging Size' System Setting defined on the General tab. This will provide paging controls that allows users to page through large sets of G/L Segment values.
Check the box to select the line for deletion when the record is next saved.
Check the box to make the Segment ID active. Active Segment ID's will be available for selection for that segment during transaction entry.
Type in up to 128 characters to indicate the Segment ID.

This tab is used to define the relationships between segments and segment values. The relationships will determine what values are valid and available for selection during transaction entry based on the values already selected for other segments.
Select the GL Segment for which the relationship is to be defined. All GL Segments other than the one currently open will be displayed with their descriptions.
Select from the available options in the drop down list. The option selected will determine what restrictions will be placed on each segment based on their respective values.
Allow All: No restrictions exist and both segments can be populated during transaction entry.
Blocked: The related segment will not be available for selection or entry when a value has been entered into the selected segment. Values can only be entered into one of the two segments during transaction entry.
Block Specific: Values for the related segment will be restricted based on the value entered for the selected segment. When this option is selected, the values for the selected segment will be displayed.
This navigation section will display when the "Block Specific" access type is selected for the Segment ID. Select the GL Segment ID value to display the values for the related segment that will be blocked.
This button will display when the "Block Specific" access type is selected for the Segment ID. Clicking the button will to allow the user to edit the blocked values for the related segment.
