WorkPlace Project - Billing Rate Calculations

The Billing Rates pop-up form is located on several different pages within WorkPlace. If the Bill Rate field is populated on more than one of these, WorkPlace uses a specific hierarchy to determine which will be the actual rate used when invoices are generated. The actual rate used depends on two factors: (1) which pages have the billing rate field populated, and (2) is the user who created the transaction associated with any of the pages where the rate is listed?

Below is the priority order WorkPlace uses to select the actual billing rate:

1	Project > Phase > Activity	Billing Rates Pop-up	Bill Rate field is populated and Employee field = Transaction creator
2	Project > Phase > Activity	Billing Rates Pop-up	Bill Rate field is populated and Labor Group field = Labor Group listed on the Transaction
3	Project > Phase > Activity	Billing Rates Pop-up	Bill Rate field is populated and Transaction creator is member of listed role
4	Project > Phase > Activity	Billing Rates Pop-up	Bill Rate field is populated and Transaction creator not in Employee field or Role field
5	Project > Phase	Billing Rates Pop-up	Bill Rate field is populated and Employee field = Transaction creator
6	Project > Phase	Billing Rates Pop-up	Bill Rate field is populated and Labor Group field = Labor Group listed on the Transaction
7	Project > Phase	Billing Rates Pop-up	Bill Rate field is populated and Transaction creator is member of listed role
