Transfer/Release Receipt

Transfer/Release Receipt sessions are the final step of the Inventory Workflow to record inventory that has been received from shipments fulfilling Release and/or Transfer Requests.  Existing Transfer/Release Receipt sessions can be edited can be edited by selecting them from the Outstanding Transactions heading on the WorkPlace Dashboard.  Open Transfer/Release Receipt Session(s) are those that have already been created but have not yet been submitted.

Header Fields

Number

A system generated sequential tracking number assigned to all Transfer/Release Shipment as defined on the Inventory tab in System Settings.

Created On

System generated date identifying when the session was created.

Created By

Name of the user who is logged in and creating the Transfer/Release Shipment, they are the 'owner' of the session.

Document Date

Defaults to current date, may be changed if needed.

Posting Date

Defaults to the Document Date and may be changed if needed.

Line Fields

Delete Checkbox

To delete a line from the session, click on the Delete Checkbox and press the Save button on the Entry Toolbar.

Line

System generated sequential number assigned to each line.

Requested By

Name of the user who is logged in and creating the session line.

Source Number

The system generated tracking number for the shipment that is being received.

Source Line

The line reference number for the shipment that is being received.

Item Company

This field is displayed when Intercompany is registered and indicates the company that owns the requested inventory.

Item

The quantity-tracked inventory item that has been received.

From Location

Displays the location that the Item(s) were shipped from.

To Location

For Transfer Request shipments, this field displays the Location where the Item(s) are being received.  The To Location field will be blank for Release Request receipts.

Requested

This read-only field will display the quantity of the Item(s) requested.

Backordered

Displays the total quantity back ordered based on the quantity requested less quantity available.  This field is displayed when the 'Enable Backorder for Transfer/Release Request' System Setting has been enabled.

Shipped

This read-only field will display the total quantity that has been shipped and is automatically updated when Transfer/Release Ship sessions are processed for the request.

Received Prv

This read-only field will display the total quantity received for previously processed sessions and is automatically updated when Transfer/Release Receipt sessions are processed for the request.

Received

The quantity received is required and represents what the user has received for each request line.  This must be a positive number and will be subject to the quantity decimal precision setup for the item in Item Maintenance.  The total quantity received (Received+ Received Prv) cannot exceed the total quantity Shipped for the request.  Once the session has been submitted, this field becomes read-only.

The quantity received for Transfer Requests will be removed from the In Transit status to On Hand for the To Location when the session is processed.  

Quantities shipped for Release Request fulfillments will be removed from the on hand inventory (and allocated) status when the session is processed.

If the Item on the session line is Serial or Lot tracked, the Serial/Lot Entry window will be available to select and confirm the serial or lot numbers received.  The user will not be able to submit the session until the total quantities entered in the Serial/Lot Entry window match the Received quantity for each session line.

U/M

Type or Select from the Zoom Window the requested Unit of Measure; such as each, box, etc.  This is a required field and will default to the base unit of measure (UOM Base) setup in Item Maintenance for the requested Item.

 

Line Actions

Serial/Lot Entry

This button becomes available on the session line or the bottom toolbar for any session line containing serial or lot tracked items.  If the item on the selected line is not serial or lot tracked, the user will not be permitted to open the Serial/Lot Entry window.
